I bought my tail kit from a private individual who bought it off another individual, neither of whom ever started on it. Additionally I got a fairly complete set of build tools as part of the deal including nearly everything I need to do the entire project. You can find good deals out there if you are patient and are willing to drive a bit to pick them up. Here's the entire tail kit (empennage kit) laid out in the basement back in January. Inventory was completed and everything was accounted for thankfully. Changing the build number over to me was relatively easy and straight forward with just a few emails back and forth to Van's. Build number 83203 is now mine and hopefully it will one day become a completed flying machine.
