I fiddled with cardboard and scissors again this evening. I ended up prototyping and fitting a small angled console just forward of the throttle quadrant. This console would allow me to mount the throttle quadrant in the stock location, but still allow the flap switch to be in an easily-accessible place (which is one of the main things I wanted to accomplish in the first place with an angled side console). Next, I'll transfer the design to thin posterboard for final testing, then to 0.032 or 0.040 aluminum.
