Title: Rear seat throttle
I'm still waiting for an order of 0.063" aluminum for my fuel selector project, so tonight I started tackling the aft throttle installation. The plans for this item are very complete and detailed -- much like the empennage manual was. They are a refreshing change from the somewhat generic manual for the airframe kit that I've been following for the past year or so. I began by drilling the required 3/16" holes in the front and rear throttle arms. Then I measured and cut the slot in the rear armrest, using a Dremel tool and widening it to its final size with various small files. Next, I removed the top platenut on the F-806 bulkhead where the throttle cover plate will go, fabricated the pushrod, and cut the UHMW anti-chafe strip into two 5" pieces. I finished up the evening's work by marking, clamping and drilling the throttle mounting plate into the fuselage.
