Primed the speed ring with high fill primer. This required a few coats with glazing putty and sanding between. A long process, but I hate pinholes. Making the speed ring from a mold would have eliminated 90% of the pin holes, but I was burned out making the cowl mold to do another, soba one-off ring was opted for.
