Title: 45-12 Cabin Door and Transparencies step Pin Block Adaptation
Left door aft pin block is not working properly. Excessive force is required to close the door and the bottom aft corner sits proud. After checking it seems that i enlarged the hole in the wrong direction resulting in misalignment and bottom aft corner sitting proud. I cut a new pin block out of a delrin big block, drilled the screw holes. I used the pin block with the pointed bolt to redetermine the center of the 7/16 hole. Drilled the hole. I prepared also a backing plate from 0.40 aluminum. Matchdrilled the screw holes. Mounted and adapted. I had to repeat the process a couple of time due to slight misalignment and non satisfactory result. I finally succeeded and the result is a smooth operation even with the seal mounted and the bottom aft corner is less proud (less than 1mm). I am considering to repeat this for the other pin blocks as i am not fully convinced of their strength.
