Title: Wing covers
Today I installed the wing covers and inserted the upper ribs. First I had to disconnect the tail section upper boom tubes from the rear spars and detach the lift struts and remove the upper front and rear lift strut gusset plates so that I could slide the covers on the wings. You have to be careful not to let anything get snagged as you side the covers on from the wing tip to the root. There are straps at the root that connect the wing covers together. You have to raise and lower each wing several times as you tighten up the straps until the covers are tight and the gap in the middle is the correct width. Ratchet straps at the leading and trailing edges helps to pull things tight. I then installed the upper wing ribs. The ribs are passed through a slit on the bottom of the wing cover and slipped into rib pockets that are sewn on the inside of the wing covers. This was a very tedious process but the result was pretty good. Next I will finish installing the specialized wing tip ribs and the lower ribs.
