Started on the rear spar upgrades for the left wing. Removed rivets on the rear spar in the area of aileron rod and spar root, as well as the top rivets for the upper angle. Positioned and drilled the aileron bar doubler. Positioned and back drilled the inboard portion of the upper angle doubler.

Finished de burring all parts and performed final riveting of nose ribs 1-3 and upgraded mounting angels on left wing. Installed and torqued AN3 bolts to spec.

Laid out the 20mm spacing for rivets between ribs 1-5 on the top and bottom skin spar area. Disassembled and began deburring.

  Nov 25, 2023     Left Wing L-angle - (4 hours)       Category: Wings

Fitted the L-angle that goes between nose rib 1 and 2 against the lower part of the main spar. Attached a scrap piece of aluminum to act like the skin between nose ribs 1/2. Trimmed the L-angle to fit between the ribs. Marked/drilled 5 holes on the shorter side of the angle. Match drilled into the scrap piece. Anchored with clecos. Match drilled the two main spar holes into the L-angle. Temporarily installed all spar bolts. Mounted nose skin attaching lower portion with clecos. Match drilled the 5 holes to the nose skin.
Temporarily installed top rear skin and closed top portion of nose skin. Match drilled the main spar extrusion to nose and top skin.

  Nov 12, 2023     Left Nose Rib #3 Angle Upgrades - (6 hours)       Category: Wings

Installed the two angle upgrades on the left wing for front rib #3. Removed the two solid rivets that will be used to attached the longer angle. Used the original angle for the positioning of the rib. Drilled the top and bottom anchor points and used AN bolts to attach. Identified the positions of center 5 rivet locations. Drilled pilot holes. Used pilot holes to match drill into nose rib. Removed the original short angle and positioned the new short angle opposite the long angle. Match drilled the 5 center holes into the short angle. Match drilled the spar web rivet holes into the new short angle. Marked the area to be trimmed on the new angles for the fuel line grommet. Drilled final two top and bottom rivet locations on long angle to rib attach points. Disassembled and deburred all holes.

Made upgraded angles for the Left wing nose rib #2. Aligned to maintain same positioning of the nose rib. Drilled and deburred all rivet holes. Cut edges at fuel line opening to match with nose rib.

Continuing B Mod updates on left wing. Prepped new mounting angles for nose rib #1 on left wing. Use top and bottom templates of nose skin for positioning of the rib. Drilled and de-burred all holes.

Installed the last remaining solid rivets needed for the upgraded top extruded spar angle.

Completed riveting on most of the left wing extrusion angle on upper main spar. This is part of the B mod upgrades. Used 3X rivet gun at 90psi.
