Jun 21, 2023     Pulley cable retainers - (1.8 hours)       Category: Controls
Finished running pilot side flap cable. Began fabricating a pulley cable retainer. Cut an 8” long 5/8” wide .032 aluminum strip. Cut another 5/8” strip about 5” with one end 1-1/4” wide. Flush riveted these two pieces together orthogonal to each other. Worth a hand reamer bent the shorter piece to wrap around the pulley.

Dec 22, 2021     Windows - (4.2 hours)       Category: Fuselage
Used a straight edge clamped to the 1 1/2" strips then an angle grinder to straighten the edges. Unfortunately found out that 1 1/2" was still too short. Cut 2" strips to make sure there's enough overlap fore and aft. Need to trip off the excess on the top piece to allow the window to tilt up fully without impeding on the upper frame.

Dec 21, 2021     Windows - (1.3 hours)       Category: Fuselage
Tried cutting wider strips of aluminum to better fill in gaps at fore and aft of window frame. Tried cutting 1 1/2" pieces. Edges are not quite straight. Need to clean them up a bit.

Dec 21, 2021     Windows - (2 hours)       Category: Fuselage
The fore and aft window skins are too narrow. Had to fabricate wider strips to overlap frame. This will allow for a better seal around the window to the fuselage to keep noise and cold air out.
