So after a long delay with taking care of parents and some personal health issues, I started back building a few days ago. I had to dust things off and get my equipment & tables set back up. I had to re-learn how to use some of the equipment and familiarize myself with all the terminology again. Anyway, I am making progress on the vertical stabilizer. I used the wrong rivets installing some of the nutplates for the rudder hinge, so I had to drill those out and redo. Luckily, that went well with no issues. I chalk that up as a learning experience on first making sure I got the right rivets and two being able to drill out rivets since I am sure I might have to do that again in the future. My compressor stopped working and I think the motor burned up since I can smell what seems like a electrical burning smell. So a trip was made to Lowes to buy a new one. Luckily, my wife had a small compressor in her "sheshed" that I borrowed so I didn't have to stop what I was working on. It got me by for the rest of the day but was definitely underpowered for my needs. My friend Jose came over this past Saturday and helped me with the vertical stabilizer. He wanted to watch and learn so I put him to work deburring holes. I am learning myself so it is hard to show and teach when you don't know yourself!
