Spent yesterday and today trying to figure out how the front spar attaches. There was no mention of the steps, either in the assembly drawings or the instructions. I think I may have figured it out…..

Riveted my first airplane assemblies ever! The first tail spar took about 45 minutes to figure out how to do the squeezing. The remaining 3 took 30 minutes total.

Used Goo Gone to remove leftover adhesive on several parts.
 
May 18, 2023     Bulkhead plate - (1.7 hours)       Category: Empennage
Drilled #30 holes in rear bulkhead plate. Clamped rear bulkhead plate to Former F5 and drilled the #30 holes as well as the 3/16” holes.

Finished drilling first batch of fuselage brackets.

Prepped and drilled 20 fuselage brackets. Still need bending.
 
May 15, 2023     Former F5 - (1.3 hours)       Category: Empennage
Drilled 3/16” holes through Cap Plate, rear stabilizer spar attach brackets and rear bulkhead plate for (6) AN-3A bolts. Drilled 3/16” mounting holes in tail wheel swivel casting and rear bulkhead plate.
