Cut main spar capstrips to length. Laid out capstrips and marked drill locations. Started drilling capstrips. Pictures coming soon

Built a matching flat 3'x8' assembly table and shimmed up tables to be super flat for spar build up
 
Feb 05, 2022     Spar plates templates - (15 hours)       Category: Wings
Built templates to cut out all the spar plates. Also laid out and drilled rivet hole locations

Rough cut and finished cut all the blanks for the wing spars. Fronts, rears, flaps, and ailerons. Had shop in Spokane do the bending.

Built all the rib attach angles. Cut 1 inch strips, broke to 90 degs, and drilled mount holes one side.

Fabricated cutting jigs and forming jigs for fabricating the flap nose ribs, aileron nose ribs, and aileron pocket ribs

Finished up forming and flanging lightening holes on all the .025 center ribs. Rough cut, finish cut, formed and flanged all the rear ribs. Rough cut, finish cut, and started forming flap ribs.

Finished forming the .025 left wing center ribs. Made a lightening hole forming jig for the center ribs and formed the lightening holes in the left center ribs.

I miscounted nose ribs when I originally cut them out and came up 3 short. Rough cut, finish cut, formed, and flanged the last 3 left nose ribs.

Finished the 23 right side nose ribs. Formed and flanged 20 left side nose ribs.

Built a jig to hydroform flanges on lightening holes. Still testing with the press set-up and have room for improvement but the flange is turning out way better than my attempt using the bob stick method. Have formed and flanged lightening holes on about 18 ribs.

Rough cut about 20 nose ribs. Cut approximately 15 on the router with cutting jig. Deburred 5 of them. Flanged and fluted the 5 deburred ribs.
