Trim System Modification
- (60 hours)
Category: Tail Feathers
Modifying the Trim System to go away from the legacy designed servoing trim system to a fixed trim system using a Maule gear reduced Trim Wheel and push pull cables in the elevator(s) to adjust trim tabs. I followed the design on the Bear Hawk Forums (
https://bearhawkforums.com/forum/bearhawk-4-place-plans-build/1281-fixed-trim-tab-vs-servoed-trim-tab)
and Paul Minelga (aka Alaska Bearheark) and his YouTube Video:

https://youtu.be/rt5af6_G6hY
The only modifications I made to this is using a Dimpled die sheet metal cable retention structure and a set of pulleys for cable routing over the Cathedral in the center of fuselage.

Airfoil Modification to Horizontal and Vertical Stab
- (80 hours)
Category: Tail Feathers
Added the Airfoil rib extensions to the Horizontal and Vertical Stabilizer. They are made using a 3-D Printed Router Guides that I designed off the Bearhawk drawing for these rib extensions. There are made from end grain Sitka Spruce and Poly Fiber Varnished and Hysol'd to the respective control surface.
