Oct 29, 2023     interior covering - (10 hours)       Category: Fuselage
Hi Guys, it been awhile since my last update here, I update my profile often in the bearhawk forum if you want o see more of my project. I have the interior of my fuse covered now and painted. The bottom of the fuse is also covered. I am waiting on my FAA guy to inspect the fuse before I finish the covering. I have all the antenna coax ran and other wiring ran so the covering can go forward. As I am waiting on the pre-covering inspection I have started making wing parts. I recently started flying again and it has motivated me to start working on my project more. So here are a bunck of pics, hope you like them.

Dec 13, 2022     seats - (10 hours)       Category: Fuselage
Hey Guys, I have an update, lately I've been working on a new set of seats. I didn't like the first ones I built so I build two more. Presently they are at the upholsterers. I will have more pic when they come back for there. So here are the pics. I built the pilot seat so that the back can lay down to make it easier to get to the back seat. They back seat bolts into the frame in the back. The frame is per the plans, I just made a real seat that attaches to it. When I get the seats back I'll have pics.

Jul 24, 2022     cowl and aileron stop - (10 hours)       Category: Fuselage
Hey Guys, I have some progress to report. Recently I have taken a volunteer job with a company that restores Cubs and carbon cubs, they are also the producers of the new Patriot and Recruit aircraft. Since im retired and am always looking for a learning opportunity I put in 3 days a week. Not only is it a great learning opportunity I get to be around a bunch of guys who love airplanes as much as I do. Not only that it has lit a fire under my ass to get my LSA done. So here are my latest accomplishments. I am for sure done with my boot cowl now except for painting. I tried the slit in the top cowl skin to the tubes but was not able to make that work out to my satisfaction. So I did what I saw one of you guys doing. I just cut a panel out around the tubes and made a cover plate that is screwed on. Another thing I did was spurred on by a question one of you guys asked here. Am aileron stop with out having to do any welding. I made a bracket that slips on the bolts that hold the shock struts in. I have pix of it and the cowl. I also turned my fuel valve and gascolator around as one of you guys recommended. I hope my progress helps some one else with some ideas.

Jun 06, 2022     boot cowl - (10 hours)       Category: Fuselage
Hey Guys, I have progress to report. I have mostly finished the boot cowl. I have a bazillion nut plates installed I have had to assemble and disassemble this thing a million times. But im finally to the point where I need to cut the holes for the gear shock struts. Next up will be to etch, prime and paint all the shinny aluminum. I have pics so I hope yall like them.

First dry fit of the instruments in panel. Subject to change.

May 01, 2022     boot cowl - (20 hours) Category: Fuselage
I now have the boot cowl drilled to fuse. I have the electrical panel fabricated with relays and fuse blocks.

Feb 01, 2022     new fire wall - (10 hours) Category: Fuselage
Rebuilding fire wall, old fire wall was not correctly aligned with the fuse. I cut a new fire wall from stainless and drilled out all the rivets from the old fire wall flange and put it on the new fire wall.
