Drilled and cleco'd the spar splice block into position inside and outside of the spar. Using the inside main spar cap strips drilled and cleco'd them to the spar. Cleco'd the front first layer cap strip on and trimmed to fit the spar attach fitting properly.

Marked centerline on the spar web as well as all rib locations. Once satisfied where everything was I remeasured to make sure that I hopefully did not miss anything before cutting the webs square in the center and to length.

Used a light box to duplicate the parts on the plans then cut them out and glued the pieces on to MDF to make a template for a flush trim router bit. Routed each piece and sanded edges. Match drilled all parts with #40 bit

  Nov 27, 2022     Cut out main spar webs - (8 hours)       Category: Wings

Cleaned off the table, and masked off a sheet of .032 2024 using green adhesive masking film (to me the clear is harder than the green to remove). Cut out the spar blanks 11 1/8” wide. Took them over to a friends shop and used his brake to bend the flanges 1 1/4” and 8 9/16” to fit the ribs.
