May 03, 2024     Installed right wing tip - (10 hours)       Category: Wings
Assembled wing tip for right wing tip.
Installed landing light and strobe light in wing tip.
Cut wing tip to attach piano hinge.
Drilled holes from wing flange and transferred holes to piano hinges.
Attached rear tip inner brace to back of wing tip.
Installed inner support brace to inside of wing tip by gluing into tip and riveting.
Attached to wing with hinge pins and created block to secure pins at back of wing tip.


 
Apr 30, 2024     Installed bottom wing skin on left wing - (12 hours)       Category: Wings
Installed bottom skin on left wing:
Finished drilled, dimpled, and cleaned wing prior to riveting.
Cleco'd skin to wing and taped back for access to begin riveting.
Riveted skin to wing with pneumatic rivet gun and bucking bars. Taped rivet groups in place to preserve finish of aluminum.
Installed Pitot Tube mast to main wing spar and used screws to assemble to wing skin.


 
Apr 30, 2024     Taxi light installation - (8 hours)       Category: Lighting
Taxi light installation:
Cut opening in wing edge from template
Assembled light bracket and modified to fit between 2 outer wing spars
Trimmed light lens to fit inside wing leading edge
Drilled holes in wings for attaching light lens by using lens backing plates as guide
Assembled light assembly and finished installing in wing.

Installed bottom skin on right wing:

Apr 27, 2024     Pitot Tube install prep - (4 hours)       Category: Wings
Prepped wing for pitot tube and heater control install:
Prepped pitot mast by cutting out hole from template on bottom wing skin.
Drilled out mast holes and installed nut plates.
Mounted heater control module on wing spar.
Drilled holes in main spar for mast screws.
Ran pitot tube hoses through wing spar lightening holes and secured.


 
Apr 15, 2024     Installed Flaps, Ailerons, and all mechanisms. - (16 hours)       Category: Wings
Attached hinge hardware to Ailerons.
Attached ailerons and flaps to the wings.
Made alignment tool to align Aileron with wing chord line and attached to outboard side of wings.
Assembled all linkage mechanisms to control ailerons.
Assembled Aileron servo motor to wing and Aileron mechanism.
Adjusted linkage arms for ailerons to be in neutral position when Aileron is aligned to chord line.


 
Apr 10, 2024     Prepped and installed Flap and Aileron fairings - (6 hours)       Category: Wings
Prepped flap and Aileron fairings:
Drilled and deburred all holes in fairings and wings.
Dimpled holes for flush rivets in both fairings and wings.
Primered inside surface of fairings to prohibit corrosion.
Installed rivets to attach fairings to wings. Used pull rivets to attach fairings where I couldn't squeeze or use rivet gun.


 
Apr 04, 2024     Flap linkage and cover plate installation - (2 hours)       Category: Interior Finish
Attached linkage arm for flaps. Attached cover plates in baggage compartment.


 
Apr 03, 2024     Installed Empennage Fairing - (8 hours)       Category: Empennage
Installed Empennage fairing:
Drilled empennage skin for screw holes and nut plates
Installed 6-32 nut plates for securing fairing to empennage
Enlarged holes in lower empennage cover plates and installed nut plates for attaching top cover to
Drilled holes and tapped 6-32 holes in longer one to attach lower cover plate to
Attached both top and bottom covers to empennage with 6-32 stainless countersunk screws


 
Mar 30, 2024     Seat Belt installation - (2 hours)       Category: Interior Finish
Attached rear seat belt cables to back of fuselage.
Assembled seat belts and attached to fuselage.
