Jun 24, 2020 3 6W2-2 - Rebuilt outer mass balancer rib. Category: Wings
On Sunday (21st) I decided to assemble the ailerons after cortec'ing them. So when I tried..I couldn't insert the Mass Balancer shaft through the hole and still line up the rivet holes on the outer Mass Balancer rib (left aileron). I decided that I must have cut the hole and THEN pulled out the mass balancer shaft and then manualy aligned and drilled the rivet holes in the rib. Some careless this way comes I suppose.

So, this gave me the 'opportunity' to rebuild another left aileron rib. It's a good thing that I still have my left aileron form block that I already used to make one of the other ribs.

In comes Cade Dixon, who accompanied Miriam (G2) home for Sarah's (G1) wedding this weekend. He came down to the shop and helped me out to create and properly align, drill, and cleco the new rib. His first introduction to home-building a plane, and that after driving over 10 hours first. The build was a success. We called it quits for the night after final fit and cleco.

Will disassemble, debur, and cortec the new rib tomorrow.
