Jan 01, 2024 2 Leaks fixed Category: Engine
Not feeling well today. Didn't go out until mid afternoon. Pulled barbed brass fitting from fuel pressure transducer. Cleaned threads of fitting and used thread chaser to clean inside of transducer. Applied sealant and re-installed.
Also check and tweaked some sensor limits on GDU config to better match indications I saw yesterday on engine run. Checked coolant level and found it quite low. That would explain high CHT temps I saw yesterday.
Fired up engine again. Ran at low rpm <2200 rpm until I got to 120 degrees oil temp. NO fluid leaks, no oil blown out. Not sure why I had so much oil yesterday. What I thought was coolant, I now believe was only the gas coming from fuel transducer with air blowing across puddle of fuel and evaporating the more volatile components leaving the oily residue that I mistook for coolant. So I'm very pleased no leaks. Plane ready to travel.
