Built a jig to hold the window frames steady as I measured, drilled, deburred, checked the many thin strips of aluminum that make up the window frames on both sides of the cockpit. Based on the plans and many photos of completed Bearhawks, it's clear that the plexiglass is sandwiched between the trim pieces and the tubular window frames. it's so simple it had me severely confused!
