Nov 20, 2021 5 32-3 Tailcone Attachment Step 1-4 Category: Fuselage
Prepared the fuse cradle and a support for the tailcone. Checked the F-1006B bulkhead for correct final drilling and dimpling (Priming missing).
Carefully assembled the Tailcone to the Fuselage with Marco's and Lucio's help. Correctly inserted the tailcone skin between the fuse skin, the F-1006B tabs and the various shims on the baggage door area.
Clecoed the skins to the bulkhead and to the F-1019-F-1021 Baggage ribs (left and right). The assembly has been a bit complicated, but finally we inserted correctly the tailcone skin between the fuselage skins and shims on the left side. We clecoed in position and carefully moved the tailcone into position on the bottom and right side skins. after that we clecoed the assembly with some difficulty but at the end the parts are fitting together perfectly.
Final drilling of all the baggage ribs holes into the F-1006B bulkhead.
Aligned the longeron vertex and Lucio suggested to use a small shim .032 to take into account the overlapping skin before pilot drilling and final drilling the longerons.
Clamped longerons and pilot drilled #30 and subsequently final drilled #12 while clecoing and keeping longerons in position.
This step would have been nearly impossible to complete without helping hands from the Lucio and Marco.
