Jul 29, 2023 2 AWG2 routing to Starter Contactor Category: Electrical Syst.
Tested few options on routing the AWG2 from battery to starter contactor. Finally decided to use the proposed solution from VANS in the OP37 Wiring documentation.
AWG2 runs on the lower hole in the side and into the firewall passthrough positioned slightly under the starter contactor.
For this reason i drilled an hole into F-1002L and F-10110L. I don't see a need for a second hole as indicated in the instruction. If needed i will drill that.
For the time being i used a single bushing SB500-6 and that is perfect fit for the AWG2. I will add a clamp further down the road before the firewall to have the wire in place Probably i will use a click-bond stud to avoid drilling the side skin.
I also drilled a hole to position a clamp on F-1016L to help routing the AWG2 towards the battery.
I still need a couple of SB750-6 bushing and a couple of grommets. My preference is to have the AWG2 alone in its routing and have other wires in the other hole. The SB750-10 should be sufficient for the wing wires, fuel pump and total pressure and AOA (if ADHARS will be in the cockpit, otherwise there will be no issue.
