Project: KMYARV12     -     Entry

Nov 22, 2020 3 Continued Work on Tail Part Category: Empennage
Damion Cherney: me and a couple kids riveted the rudder, however we failed to interpret that the drawing was showing the top view instead of the bottom view. We will look into fixing this mistake if need be.
Holden Glass: Worked on the bulkhead. We started with pieces and match drilled and deburred the part. Did half of the riveting for the part. An issue we had was with the angle of the squeeze riveter. We had to get a new one with a longer yoke.
Rebecca Colwell: worked on the stabilator. Got some match drilling and riveting to connect the horn and multiple pieces together. Drilled and connected the counter weight. Did deburring for all of those steps as well.
Larry Sullivan: We will check with Vans about the rudder skin overlap issue. We put a shallow scratch in the stabilator spar (picture below) and we will look at sanding and priming to prevent corrosion from damaging the structural integrity.
Harsh Patel: Was forced to actually work on the plane. Worked on Rebecca's and Damion's teams. Wasn't bad for me, I enjoyed it. Was bad for trying to actually meet the deadline of finishing my database program by December. Will probably take the computer home to work on it from home.
