Today I mounted my Fiate MZ201 engine. The first step in mounting the engine to the airframe is to install the mounting plates which are set to a negative 4 degrees relative to the root tube. The mounting plate has a single pilot hole and you have to back drill three additional holes after you have the angle set. I clamped everything together with the flat bars to keep everything level. I then removed the engine from the shipping crate which took quite a bit of time. The engine is attached to a metal shipping frame and I almost had to disassemble the entire crate before I could get it out. I then installed the rubber shock mounts on the flat bars and attached them to the engine. Next I got my son to help me lift the engine on to the mounting plate and tightened all the nuts.
