Jan 24, 2021     Flaps - (4.5 hours)       Category: Tail Feathers
Rolled flap edges. Flap -debur all, forward spar a bugger to debur. River ribs and hinges. Bushings reamed. Mating surfaces one side primed

Jan 23, 2021     Starting wing, flap - (5.5 hours)       Category: Tail Feathers
I prepared the wing spot assembly, cleaned and deburred both spars, including the back and holes of the leading edge. This was a bit tedious. I noticed on Facebook, that the flaps and ailerons need to be finished prior to the wings. I then proceeded to gather together the flap assembly, and I proceeded to bend the leading edge with 1 7/8 abs pipe, as well as taking all the ribs and bend them into exactly 90all the holes and edges got the “treatment”

Jan 22, 2021     Rudder - (7 hours)       Category: Tail Feathers
Replaced the side skins, wasn't happy with the cosmetic outcome of the formed edges. $300 upgrade. I inserted the pull handle, riveted the one side of rudder, confirmed that there is no twist.

Jan 17, 2021     Elevator - (7 hours)       Category: Tail Feathers
Elevator build. I installed the hinges, but not entirely happy with the center hinge. This will be replaced in future,As it is somewhat proud of the top surface. Safety wire used to holes-90end in the hinge pin to secure. The one side was rivetted, the other side was left open for inspection. The tip skins were not riveted, but placed with clevos
I return to the rudder, replace the skins,Deburred, clecod in place, leading edge aft skin was formed, Also placed the elevator, horizontal stabilizer and trim tab on the wall

Jan 05, 2021     Elevator - (7 hours)       Category: Tail Feathers
I spend most of the time on the elevator, I believe the trailing edge was supposed to have pre-drilled holes. I proceeded to spend quite a bit of time in match drilling, due to limited space, I proceeded to drill at an angle from the one side, and then drill through the same hole to the opposite side. Everything was removed, deburred. I also bend 1.1/4 the leading edge of the elevator, everything was deburred, sanded. I also reviewed my one center rivet on my trim tab. This rivet will be replaced with an oversize rivet- see picture

Jan 03, 2021     Elevator , trim - (6.5 hours)       Category: Tail Feathers
I deburred, painted contacting surfaces of the elevator with SEM. Trailing edge clecod in position. I followed the instructions, and proceeded with the trim tab. This was also deburred on all the necessary contacting surfaces, contacting surfaces primed, one side left open for inspection. No twist is present

Jan 01, 2021     Finishing horizontal stabilizer to the point of inspection - (6 hours)       Category: Tail Feathers
I completed the horizontal stabilizer, ground off all the rivets by placing find this type of a top, not to clean the rivets to excessiveness. The aft end on the bottom was left open for inspection, the ribs can be inspected on the leading edge from the lateral aspect

Dec 31, 2020     Hor stab - (8 hours)       Category: Tail Feathers
I proceeded building the horizontal stabilizer, took the skins off again to debur and drill holes that was missed the first time. I double checked all the edges, as well as all the screw holes, and confirm that all was deburred. I riveted one side, making sure to put all the rivets in correct places, no mistakes was made. The AAAPQ 41 rivet mandrel is sticking out on all the rivets. This is the correct rivet confirmed

Dec 29, 2020     Horizontal stabilizer - (8.5 hours)       Category: Tail Feathers
Proceed with riveting horizontal stabilizer, deburring skins, deburring all the holes. Damage to the right skin, I contacted the manufacture. Awaiting their reply. I sorted all the parts to fabricate the skin to horizontal stabilizer. I replaced the AAA PQ 42 rivets with 41s at the end ribs, the recommendation was too long, confirmed with the gauge

Dec 28, 2020     Prepping Hor Stab - (7 hours)       Category: Tail Feathers
Hor stab debur, sem primer, straightening ribs

Dec 13, 2020     Start vert stab - (2.7 hours)       Category: Tail Feathers
Organize parts
