Apr 19, 2023     More disasembly - (1 hour)       Category: Engine
Was able to get the head separated from the cylinders tonight. Soaked then in penetrating oil for a couple of days and used a little heat, was able to get them loose from the heads using a dead blow hammer and some light tapping at the base of the cylinders. Now on too the other side.

Apr 16, 2023     Corvair core disassembly - (6 hours)       Category: Engine
Continued with the disasembly of the Corvair core engine today. It is coming apart pretty well for being 58 yrs old. I have the head nuts removed, which is a big relief, as these can be very stubborn to remove. Next step is to get the push rod tubes removed and then will be able to remove the cylinder heads, cylinders, and pistons.

Apr 14, 2023     Corvair engine disassembly - (2.5 hours)       Category: Engine
After about a year of looking, I found a Corvair engine that is worthy of rebuilding. Started the disasembly process tonight. Looks pretty rough now, but will make for a nice power plant when finished.
