Spent about 30 minutes with Jim Kepford at his hangar who lent me his swaging tool and showed me how to swage my first NicoPress Sleeve onto the Cable end. Nonetheless, I messed up so had to later, at home, cut off and abandon that NicroPress Sleeve and about 3" of cable. Second swage attempt went well for the copilot's Right Rudder Pedal.
Mounted all the NylaFlow Rudder Cable guides and fed the one Rudder Cable down through the Pulleys and Guides towards where it will swage onto the pilot's Rudder Cable. Bound the Rudder Pedals together with a board to make sure Pedals were all even, and set the copilot's Adjustable Rudder Pedal Lever to mid-range, per instructions, and measured out the Cable to 63" back from the Lift Strut Carrythrough Tube). That is the location, mid-way between two sets of guides, where the pilot/copilot cables "splice" together. I assessed the travel of the Cable, and thus the "splice" location, during Rudder Pedal travel tests, and Adjustable Pedal Handle travel tests, and confirmed that the cut location makes sense and that the NicoPress Sleeve "Splice" won't interfere with the Guides.
