Cleaned layups from Saturday. Tapped sump tank fuel line connectors and re-installed. Now the gear can move fully without interference. Replaced paper and tape covering over bottom windows. Cleaned windows and recovered. Cut out and replaced PVC pipe used to cover drain valve because the angle changed when bolting in the sump tank after sanding more of the area around the tank to provide more clearance for the gear.

Cut holes in the fuel bulkhead and filled with Cabo to accommodate the brass fitting for the sight gauges. Chad mentioned he had two sight gauges for the Standard Velocity and I looked at them. While smaller they are more professionally made. I calculated that if placed at the bottom of the bulkhead the sight gauges could register between 8 gallons at the bottom to 26 gallons at the top for each wing. That’s 20% at the bottom (or 1 hr at max burn) to 75% at the top. This is sufficient for the purpose at hand.

Received the adjustable jacks for the airplane. Assembled one and realized they stood too tall. Instead of returning and getting a new set, I hired Tyrone in the machine shop here in Sebastian to cut 15 inches off of the legs. Removed the canard, sanded and cleaned the canard flanges and filled the holes with Cabo. Prepared a male mold and tried to heat a small piece of plexiglass to see if I can form the sight gauges.
