The factory tailwheel pushrod has experienced problems with many of the builders. Because it relies on a bolt turning inside of a small hole - it tends to expand the hole with time - creating a sloppy linkage. I borrowed this idea from my friend Dan - using a Heim joint at each end of the rod. I purchased a thick wall chromoly tube for the rod. Bent it to shape and cut it to length. Then I tapped each end to accept the Heim joints. Lastly, I purchased conical washers for the Heim joint - allowing for the movement within the joint.
