Nov 16, 2022     Moved hangars Category: Workshop
We moved from Three Hills to High River in May of 2022.
I was fortunate to purchase a hangar at the Foothils Regional Airport near High River.
It is slightly larger than the one in Three Hills. Also fortunate to sell the Three Hills hangar to a local aviator/builder.
The move process took from September to the middle of November. Not much build progress happening but soon.
Next job is covering the wings.

Feb 2020- Fuselage comes down from the ceiling
My hanger is about 40' square inside with the RV8, a car and a motorcylce (or 2) that take up some room, but enough space left over for a good work area.
I have heat and pretty good light so winter work is comfortable.
First order of business is getting a 16 ft long work table. I just happen to have an box left over from the RV finishing kit that was 8 ft long and about the right height for a work table. I attached a 2x6 to each side to extend the length to 16 ft added some legs, and 2 sheets of 3/4" plywood for the top.
Ready to get started.
The picture show the work table with the airframe but I actually started and completed the wings before the airframe came down from the ceiling. The work table was dismantled shortly after this picture and the airframe went onto a rotisserie.

Ignore the entry date, a glitch that I cant fix, this set up happened in early 2022

Its time to start the fabric coating process. I set up a low cost green house in the hanger to contain the overspray and foul odours.
Light might be adequate, if not I will add another row (or two).
I set up an extraction fan, filter and duct to the outside. The green house has flaps for air inlet and furnace filters fit nicely to filter the make up air.
