Mounted engine and marked tach cable hole and drilled 7/8”. Installed gascolator rod, oil line, and tach cable. Fixed lower left motor mount attachment.

Started engine and tach works. Cotter keyed all landing gear bolts. Cotter keyed other misc bolts. Safetied hinge pins on elevator.
Finished bolting of engine mount. Installed tachometer.

Finished stripping struts and they are ready for sand blasting and powder coating. Removed wing strut attach brackets for sand blasting and powder coating. Pressure tested fuel tank at 3psi overnight and ready for installation. Installed inter rib bracing on left wing.

Sanded all the fuselage fairing strips. Sanded rib tops on both wings. Blocked up and spaced the fuel tank so all the weight is not on the mounting brackets.

Removed engine from airframe and installed on stand. Removed timing cover to make a tool to find center of of hole for tach drive adapter to be installed in new timing cover. Original timing cover hole was off-center and not useable. Tach adaptor has a 3/4”-18 thread and is non-standard. Will order a tap. Repaired cylinder is done and I will pickup on Monday.

I found a cracked cylinder around the spark plug hole while doing a leak down test. Cylinders 1-3 were. 80/80 and #4 was 60. Upon further inspection found the leak. Removed the cylinder and am scheduled to bring it to Crow Custom Cast Welding in Hudson Wi tomorrow.

Found a suitable set of seat belts to modify for installation. Includes lap and shoulder belts. Removed anchor points from lap belt.
New anchor points will be installed to tie into fuselage. Belt anchor point brazed and installed.

Securely fastened plexiglass chafe plates for stabilizer cables. Replaced stabilizer cable junction bolts with new AN. Replaced stabilizer and rudder hardware with new AN. I will replace all old fasteners with new AN hardware.

Removed and deburred all edges and corners. Finalized and fitted the cowling for easy installation. Cross-bent side cowling pieces to stiffen them up. Reassembled and checked final fitment. It is good and tight fitting.

Created a jig to fabricate the #3 header. Fitted 2 pieces with a flange for welding. Welded up by Jason B. Installed and cut to length. I made up 2 sets of headers.

Fabricating exhaust headers. Built a jig to hold exhaust flanges and pipes for spot welding. I made 6. The last one has to be routed around the carb and I will make that jig when these are welded.
