Mar 15, 2019     fabrication of fire and instrument bulk heads - (5.00 hours)       Category: Fuselage
Cut out spruce blocks to go around perimeter of bulkheads. Installed 8-32 breass insert for future cowling mounting. 2 coats of epoxy varnish on instrument panel mwith wet sanding before and after.


 
Dec 26, 2018     mock up of fuel tank - (3.00 hours)       Category: Fuselage
Mocked up the the fuel tank out of tag board. Turned out great. Estimated at 5 gallons. That's about an hour and 45 minuts of flight time


 
Dec 01, 2018     instrument and forward bulkhead - (3.00 hours)       Category: Fuselage
Mocked up instrument panel and front bulkhead. I can now start fuel tank construction and instrument placement.


 
Nov 07, 2018     fixing stringer spacers - (2.00 hours)       Category: Fuselage
When gluing the spacers and stingers in place, I did not sand the spar varnish and the glue did not hold. Always sand to provide tooth for the glue.

Clamped and glued spacers in place to stabilize the lower stringers. Actually came out ver nice and straight. Installed the top and side stringer panels. Pictures don't do justice. They look real nice.


 
Jan 29, 2018     final fitting of bottom former/stringer - (6.00 hours)       Category: Fuselage
Spent the day installing the lower former/stringer and figuring out a way to keep the stringers straght. 4" X 4" pieces of basswood were glued and reinforced.

Jason Bottolfson, the welder, came over and we spent 6 hours do the finish welding. No Pics.
 
Nov 15, 2017     moved 1st stringer station - (3.00 hours)       Category: Fuselage
After moving the seat back back 2 1/2", the first stinger station had to move back. Cut out formers , repositioned stringer station, and cut and glued formers in their new postion.


 
Oct 28, 2017     Remove lower formers - (3.00 hours)       Category: Fuselage
Had to lift fuse off the ground to remove landing gear so lower former could be removed. Reinstalled landing gear. Repostioned lift to lft fuse. Lower wing ready to install


 
Aug 19, 2017     lower stringer fitting - (2.00 hours)       Category: Fuselage
Lower fuse stringers need fitting to make room for diagonal cable bracing of font landing gear attachment.
