Apr 21, 2023     Arrived - (1 hour)       Category: Engine
Due to the lucky arrival of a friend who wanted to see the airplane, I was ready when the truck arrived with my engine from Canada. We put the box on a trailer that I have and used that to take it to my shed. Then we managed to get it off of the trailer onto some furniture dolleys. Wheeled into the shed and then put most everything back to normal - normal considering a 4x4x3 box sitting in my work area. Opened the top and, yep, there it is - the engine my wife and I went up to Canada to build at Aerosport Power. Now, to shuffle it off to the side so I can actually get ready for it.

Sep 14, 2022     Build Class for One - (5 hours)       Category: Engine
Finished up with the engine by noon. Then the pros took it, hooked up oil cooler, fuel, ignition, and controls. Then they mounted it on a truck mounted engine stand and drove it out into the field. After a few seconds of cranking, the engine came to life!

Sep 13, 2022     Build Class for Two - (7 hours)       Category: Engine
Traveled to Kamloops, Canada to AeroSport Power to build the engine for our plane. Took two days - Kelly participated on the first day. On the second day, she went and rowed a scull on an Olympic venue lake so I was left to finish it on my own (with the technician who was there to make sure it was done right).
What a cool experience. We started with a rack of engine parts and by the end of the second day, the rack was empty and the engine was complete.

Dec 21, 2021     What to get? Category: Engine
I went and checked on an overhauled IO-360-C2C up in St. Augustine (that model doesn't exist in the Lycoming database). I decided to go with AeroSport Power up in Kamloops, Canada. Decided on the IO-375-M1S (similar to an M1B) and put down a deposit. If the furor about Covid dies down, Kelly and I will go up there and do the build class.
