Oct 09, 2023     More "stuff" for the plane - (3.0 hours) Category: Supplies
Multiple items for the plane: folded wing transport brackets, Kitfox decals, wheel cocks, DC ground power supply, DPDT replacement switch for fuel pumps. Appointment with flight instructor in Dennison, TX, to get required 10hrs of dual training in Kitfox model....@$350.00 per hour....OUCH!!....but necessary for safe, enjoyable flying.

Sep 20, 2023     black paint, power supply, LED lights - (1.5 hours) Category: Supplies
Had decals applied yesterday and one area of black decal covers over pitot tower hole. No problem, will remove yellow paint I just put on and spray black gloss to try to match decal. Ordered ground power supply with enough power to run avionics without killing batteries. Also put order for LED lights.

Jul 27, 2023     Hex wrenches - (1 hour) Category: Supplies
Ordered several specialty allen (hex) wrenches. I needed a long 3/32 to insert/remove avionics from panel and 5/32 wrench for my key chain for aircraft door "locks".
I've spent thousands of $ for "nickel and dime" stuff. Most of this I bought online because so difficult to find what I want/need at stores in town....even though I would really like to support local, it is so difficult to find the specialty item I need. Stores either don't carry it or "supply chain" renders it out of stock not to mention time away from project driving all over town.

Apr 11, 2023     multiple little parts to finish panel install - (12 hours) Category: Supplies
Hours spent trying to figure out what parts I still needed to get all remaining jobs done. Missing gas hinge brackets for door.(got them somewhere but ordered more), switches, wire, radio/gps cable, cable and wiring connectors, resistors, clamps, dimmers, resisters, capacitors, Thought I got it all but right after sending in order, I had to start another one.

Nov 09, 2022     Various odds and ends items - (4.0 hours) Category: Supplies
Several odds and ends: nuts, bolts, screws, aluminum angle, connectors for LRU's, valves, hoses, etc.

Oct 13, 2022     Windshield and camlocs - (1.0 hour)       Category: Supplies
Big order to replace windshield. I paid $250 extra to get windshield with UV protection but untinted. I didn't figure another $250 extra for "tinting" was worth the expense as not much tint in the acrylic. I believe it passes 75% of light.....I wanted it to BLOCK that much but not possible.
I ordered some extra camlocs to use on air fill doors on my wheel pants if I choose to actually use them....they are about $12.00 each for the camlocs

Jun 29, 2022     AC spruce order - (1.0 hour) Category: Supplies
Order placed for some small pull rivets to use in-lieu of pounded rivets for future installs. I bought an air hammer but can't seem to get it to work right. Also ordered a flare tool to form fuel lines under pilot seat and up to fuel valve then firewall.
Also bought couple more cans of paint.

Mar 08, 2022     More parts/supplies - (3.0 hours) Category: Supplies
Various parts/supplies. 2X4x8 for frame turning repair. Screws for comm antenna, upgraded fuel tank drains (with nipple to attach fuel drain hose). Picked up an air hammer to drive multiple solid rivets. Had to order a flush rivet set tip for air hammer.

Jul 13, 2021     More supplies - (3.0 hours) Category: Supplies
Spent time today to order some Red and black 20 ga single conductor, unshielded wire and some black 12 ga wire to properly wire the pitot tube. Got some clear shrink tubing to secure wire labels. Played about hour yesterday (or day before) with label machine to see what font and how to make labels. I had seen something about "special" can bus wire needed. Saw some 4 conductor, shield wire for $5.00 plus per foot. Did more reading and found that the 22 ga. mil-spec two conductor wire I have is acceptable per Garmin install.
Figured I need a bunch more poly brush, some access rings and access covers, along with drain grommets. Poly brush is $90+ per gallon and reducer is $60+ per gallon.....I needed 7 gallons....lot of money for cover that I though I had already paid for with "cover kit" Seems cover kit is only minimal to get started to cover maybe one wing. Inventory shows enough fabric but not enough chemicals.

Jul 01, 2021     Wiring - (2.0 hours) Category: Supplies
600 feet of wire (1.50+ per foot). Chalk line, Hour or so spent figuring out type, gauge and amount of wire needed. Ordered only a guesstimate amount of wire.

Apr 24, 2021     Tools and supplies - (2.5 hours) Category: Supplies
Different fittings for fuel tank finger screen, 1/4 x 4 inch ratchet wrench (old one didn't work well), two step drills for round holes, 4 foot level for #2 rib and false ribs, 2x2 piece of wood for flaperon jig, belts for belt sander.

Mar 31, 2021     Rotisserie - (10 hours)       Category: Supplies
Worked 10 hours over two days. I couldn't drill a straight hole with hole cutter. Hole cutter larger than 1 7/8 OD pipe. Tried doing end supports without 3rd led (propping leg) for storage purposes but very unstable so added 3rd support leg and attached with bolts so can remove support leg and store more easily. If you look very close, you can see I used popcicle sticks to jamb into gap between hole in 2x4 and pipe to be able to cinch down on bolt in T-nut to tighten and prevent rotation of "spit". Work's OK but not the best. Only needed for one job.

Mar 29, 2021     Supplies for Rotisserie - (2.0 hours)       Category: Supplies
Supplies for rotisserie. Had seen similar at Gary Phennings start of build in Leavenworth, WA. One sheet plywood (maybe 3/8 chip board), 4 2x4x8, multiple bolts, nuts, screws, glue, T-nuts. hole cutters.
