Jun 04, 2020     Riveted fuel tanks on - (3 hours)       Category: Wings
After filling tanks completely full and letting them set for 5 days, I was happy to have no leaks! Went ahead and riveted them on .


 
May 14, 2020     Fitting wings and flaps to fuselage etc - (14 hours)       Category: Wings
Cut flaps to length, installed inboard rib on both flaps after cutting. Installed drive horn for flap linkage. Mad spring mounts for flap retainer for folding wings. Finished fitting wing walk doubler and riveted it on. Finished riveting wing skins on. Ready for fuel tank install.


 
May 12, 2020     Aileron and flap rigging - (12 hours)       Category: Wings
Installing bell cranks, push rods and joiners for aileron and flap controls. Finished installing control stick. Finished flap handle. Prepped for cutting flaps s12 inches shorter.


 
Apr 29, 2020     Installed optional folding wing components. - (4 hours)       Category: Wings
Fitted wing support brackets to fuselage which included drilling through the side skins and one additional hole through a gusset on the forward hole of bracket. Fabricated the universal joint on the brackets and also the wing support slide tubes so they are ready to install later on.


 
Apr 23, 2020     Installed Wings - (6 hours)       Category: Wings
Installed wings and adjusted the guide plates and rollers. Checked wing incidence after leveling fuselage. Then we measured triangulation from firewall to back corners of each wing. It was withing 1/32"". Very happy with how easy this step was, lock pins slide in effortlessly after proper adjustment. Drilled rear spar holes once everything was set. Drilled aileron joiner and removed wings. Installed nylon spacers for rear spars. Began assembly of aileron push tubes.


 
Apr 20, 2020     Installed aileron hinges and riveted skins on to right wing. - (6 hours)       Category: Wings
Riveted right skins on, drilled and installed both aileron hinges to rear spars.


 
Apr 20, 2020     Riveted more ribs. Ran pitot tube. Conduit - (7 hours)       Category: Wings
Riveted left wing ribs to main spar. Installed pitot tubing through ribs. Installed plastic conduit through ribs for wiring. Installed bearings in aileron bell cranks. Squared left wing for skinning.


 
Apr 22, 2019     Fitted longerons & stiffners to rear tail cone panels. - (8 hours)       Category: Wings
Fitted longerons and stiffners to rear tail cone side pannels. Disassemled, deburred and dimpled rear cone side panels.



 
Apr 10, 2019     Fitted fuel tanks to wings - (8 hours)       Category: Wings
Fitted fuel tanks to wings and drilled holes where needed to tank attachment to spars. Deburred and dimpled. Countersunk spars where needed.


 
Feb 18, 2019     Finished wings, on to fuel cells. - (12 hours)       Category: Wings
Installed wing skins and leading edge skin. Deburred and dimpled all skins. Deburred ribs and dimpled ribs. Countersunk spars, riveted rear spr plate on, dimpled rear spar, installed skins on.


 
Feb 17, 2019     Squared and leveled right wing, began installing upper wing skins. - (2 hours)       Category: Wings
Squared and leveled right wing, began installing upper wing skins.


 
Feb 08, 2019     Debur, dimple and countersink. - (4 hours)       Category: Wings
Debuured and dimpled the left wing ribs and countersunk main spars. Installed skins back on to wing. Checked all hole alignment and dimples.


 
Feb 07, 2019     Debur, dimple repeat. - (8 hours)       Category: Wings
Worked on deburring and dimpling left wing skins. Installed pitot doubler and pitot fitting. Started deburring ribs and preparing to dimple ribs. Finished dimpling left wing skins.


 
 
Shortened rear spars as per plans for sport wing. Cut holes in rear spars for aileron drive linkage.
