Dec 03, 2022     Reinstalled Wings after paint - (7 hours)       Category: Wings
Had some friends come over to assist in reinstalling the wings. I also mounted the Flaperons and connected the linkage. I still need to set the throw. Tomorrow I plan to complete the passenger door and then begin rigging the tail controls so I can permanently mount the tail feathers.

I removed my wings with some help to begin preparing them for paint. I also removed the tail feathers. I now have a lot of paint prep. While the wings are off i installed all the rivets that I missed (3) during initial build. Added space for easy access to forward wing bolts

Sep 10, 2022     Fiberglass Fairing - (8 hours)       Category: Wings
Had to redo my passenger side fairing. I seemed to have missed the resin in the incorrect ratio. The Pilot side came out great. i have trimmed and filled it with a micro glass sphere and epoxy resin to fill the holes. Next will be sanding.

Started working on inner wing skin on pass. side wing. Will need to complete Pilot side and then make fiberglass fairing.
Also completed wiring on Pilot grip. Added elevator trim control to grip.

Jan 09, 2022     Corrected dihedral - (8 hours)       Category: Wings
Today I fixed the mistake I made on the struts. Here are the steps to correct the issue I created.
1. Level aircraft
2. run string from one wingtip to the other.
3. set wing height to 85mm =/-5mm at inboard rib.
4. Mount struts lose to get correct length.
5. mark holes for weldment and strut.
5. drill holes and then remount.
6. check dihedral (1.3 deg. on both wings)
7. repeat on other wing.

Mounted struts, Cut ended 1 in short and will need to correct to achieve correct dihedral. Started building fuel cart. Hangar leaks covered plane to prevent damage.

Today I had a few friends come over and help mount the wings to the fuselage. We mocked up the wings in so that i can perform all measurements to get the wings square, set incidence, and then finally dihedral.

Completed wiring for right wing. Mounted remote magnetometer. Wiring all runs along the trailing edge. Completed sheeting the wing top and bottom. Left inboard skin and trailing edge clecoed until after wings are mounted.
