Nov 18, 2023     Inspection, November 18, 2023 - (4.1 hours)       Category: Inspection
The inspection ended up being worse than I expected. The Left wing has every rib broken, the main spar broken in at least two places, the aft spar is broken, and the leading edge is broken in two places. The wing root on the left wing is broken. The right wing had three broken ribs. The fuselage lower right longeron is broken along with the stringers in the lower right side.

I don't believe there is any way to repair this aircraft to make it safe and airworthy. This project is ended here.

Feb 19, 2023     2nd Inspection, February 19, 2023 - (2.5 hours)       Category: Inspection
Worked with the IA to do a full inspection on the airframe structural condition and development of a repair parts list. What we found was that there were breaks in some of the wood structures. I found out that the previous owner ground looped the vehicle. There were some repairs attempted, but poorly done. Replacement of the various wood structures or replacement of some of them is required for safe operation. Now that all of the old fabric is removed the only fabric remaining (the white material) was that which was put on but not heated or treated for the restoration. There were mouse droppings for in the wing material and some wood damage probably do to mouse urine. A full sanding and wood preparation is required prior to finishing the fabric application. It was also found that the tailwheel assembly snapped when lowering the fuselage to the ground. The tailwheel assembly will be replace with a leaf spring assembly and mounted in the same location.

Dec 09, 2022     Changing Hands, December 9, 2022 - (.5 hour)       Category: Inspection
This is the gentleman that passed this gem on to me. Joe is an IA and will assist in the restoration. NOTE: The wings behind the fuselage are NOT for the FP101. They are for a Bobcat Ultralight that Joe has at his house. I can only handle two projects at once. LOL

Nov 26, 2022     1st Inspection - (1 hour)       Category: Inspection
This was the first inspection of the hangar and the FP101 as given. The fuselage was on a high stand in the rear of the hangar. The wings, vertical stabilizer, rudder, horizontal stabilizer, elevator and landing gear were all stored in a loft on the southern side of the hangar.
