Sanded second gear leg. Applied more micro to the bottom of the strakes and wings to create a smooth transition and fit.
 
Aug 20, 2020     Sanding - (4 hours) Category: Main Gear
Applied micro to second gear leg. Sanded and cleaned lower strake windows.
 
Jul 28, 2020     Gear doors - (4 hours) Category: Main Gear
Trimmed the gear doors at the top far enough to enable the gears to be lowered fully without having the doors hit the fuselage.

Spent the day fitting the gear doors to the openings now that the booties are on.
 
Jul 23, 2020     Booties - (8 hours)       Category: Main Gear
Cut gear legs off at the bottom to accommodate the new aluminum booties. Leveled wheels with the booties on. Fit both booties and used structural cement to permanently attach booties to legs.

Did an initial fit of the co-pilot side gear door More micro filling and sanding.
 
Jul 14, 2020     Gear doors - (5 hours) Category: Main Gear
Cleaned the glass work from the previous day. Cleaned both gear doors. Did second layup on the co-pilot side wheel well. Fit the pilot side gear door. Filled in spots with micro.
 
Jul 13, 2020     Gear doors - (7 hours)       Category: Main Gear
Did second layup on the pilot side of the wheel well. Sanded bottom of fuselage (100 grit). Glassed 2 BID on each gear door because I didn't do a layup over the entire gear door as I should have previously.

Fit the co-pilot side main gear door. Glassed reinforcing layups on the door. Corrected pilot side gear door opening at strake by adding glass layup. Sanded and cleaned small door cover to potentially use to cover wing bolt access hole. Sanded inside of cabin.

Glassed the inside of the fuselage in the morning, including both NACA scoops, fresh air scoop and both shelves (back, sides and front). Prepared to fit main gear doors on legs. Shaped the foam for reinforcing gear doors.
 
Mar 16, 2020     Fitting Gear Legs - (5 hours)       Category: Main Gear
Opened bolt holes at bushing for main gears inside the cabin at the gear bulkhead and on the exterior of the engine bulkhead. Re-installed the gears and leveled the fuselage. Cut openings in fuselage on both sides for gear to retract fully.

Spent the day preparing and installing (gluing bushings) the main gears.

Feb 25, 2020     Installed Brake Line Straws to Legs - (7 hours)       Category: Main Gear
Prepared main gear legs for attachment of straws to hold the brake line. Sanded, glued and glassed the straws to both legs. Began to install the flanges to hold the instrument panel and received side sticks to install after panel is leveled.

Feb 24, 2020     Main Gear Installation - (4 hours) Category: Main Gear
Installed two 4-ply BID layup between the engine bulkhead and the gear bulkhead (under the foam cover between the bulkheads) as part of the torsion box reinforcement. Cleaned the seat frames.
 
Feb 21, 2020     Sleeve to Support Gear in Fuselage - (6 hours)       Category: Main Gear
Cut and glassed 6 layers of Triax for each molded gear sleeve and placed them on the aluminum foil covered gear legs. Sanded and prepared the internal spar area for the next set of layups to secure the spar to the fuselage.

Feb 19, 2020     Wrapped Main Gear in Carbon Sleeve - (7 hours) Category: Main Gear
Wrapped the second main gear and sanded and redrilled the holes in the first landing gear leg. Worked on the fuselage for an hour.
 
Feb 17, 2020     Wrapped Main Gear in Carbon Sleeve - (8 hours)       Category: Main Gear
Sanded each of the main gears and wrapped one in three layers of glass sleeves: two carbon fiber and one regular glass. Finished taping up the interior windows for micro.
