Decided to install door into aft baggage compartment wall where I can gain access to stowed tool kit.


 
May 07, 2023     Control Stick Collector Covering - (3 hours)       Category: Interior Finish
Redid the decorative interior covering, removing my vinyl fabric covering and used abs plastic sheet instead. Used Heat gun for forming a bend. Made cutouts where appropriate. Overall a better finish and more robust.

Had Vinyl material, cut to shape, installed gear shift boots, glued backing material to hold shape. Used contact adhesive.

Fabricated 4 cable ties for lap belt attachment. Bolt install of Hooker harness seat belts, left and right seat.

Purchased household type wire track, lightened it by drilling out material. Mounted in airplane via Adel clamps.

Modified aluminum floor panel to make cutout relief for fuel lines. Applied vinyl film have 3d carbon fiber look.

Purchased floor covering. Cut to fit. Purchased universal shift boots. Fabricated flanges, Mounted shift boots.


 
Mar 07, 2020     Side Floor Panel Closeouts - (1.5 hours)       Category: Interior Finish
Because I am choosing not to apply fabric covering on interior sides of fuselage I fabricated side of seat closeouts that extend beyond structure to close gaps with applied exterior covering. Provided AL sheetmetal strips are not used. Made poster board templates, cut sheetmetal, drilled mounting holes, zinc Chromate primer, and painted.
