Nov 20, 2023     Finalized Fuel Lines and Pitot/AOA - (35 hours)       Category: Fuel System
Finalized routing of fuel lines, torqued and marked all fittings. Also connected pitot and AOA lines from left wing.

Nov 19, 2023     L Fuel Line - (1.0 hour) Category: Fuel System
Roughed in left fuel line. From tank to fuel shutoff valve, then from valve to header tank. Secured with a cushion clamp. Used a -8 clamp, modified to a -6.

Now have shutoff valves for left and right tanks, and one on the header tank outlet. Simplifies maintenance.

Nov 18, 2023     R Fuel Lines - (2.5 hours)       Category: Fuel System
Completed rough-in of right tank fuel line connection to header tank and partial connection to left side. Need an AN Fitting to complete.

Nov 17, 2023     Routing Fuel Lines - (2.0 hours)       Category: Fuel System
Fabricating aluminum fuel lines from main tanks to header tank. Using soft aluminum tube and AN fittings rater than the rubber hose, hose clamps and JIC fittings supplied. Also including fuel shut-off valves to simplify maintenance.

Feb 11, 2022     Fuel screen       Category: Fuel System
Received two inline 100 micron fuel filters to put on the primary tank fuel feeds. I was worried about the lack of a fuel screen (coarse filter), thus allowing debris to flow freely into the main fuel filter and clogging it prematurely. Typically, fuel pick-ups have a finger screen or some sort of debris filter. I will replace the butyl rubber O rings with Viton ones for longevity.

These fuel screens will be coupled with upstream fuel valves to allow filter cleaning.

Jun 28, 2021     Pitch Servo and Fuel Lines - (2.5 hours)       Category: Fuel System
Torqued down pitch servo and fabricated aluminum fuel lines between header tank, fuel pump, fuel selector and firewall.

I am using two rivets to secure the angle brace on the front of the servo mount. Plans call for one, but that does not seem secure enough.
The fuel lines replace the stock hoses, JIC fittings and hose clamps which are not good for a pressurized system. Current kits use AS Flightline hose which are fine (but heavier and more expensive than solid aluminum lines).

I'm going to need to find a better way to coil up the excess brake line that Rans provides. It's pretty shoddy that they don't provide shorter lines for taildraggers.... they know what kit you ordered!
