Apr 11, 2023     Glare Shield secured       Category: Glare Shield
The plans call for stainless rivets. Previous builders used threaded fasteners to the Longerons. And several on/off cycles meant some of the firewall holes were wallowed out, so I used a mix of stainless machine screws with medium loctite, and 5/32 "oops" pulled rivets. Not pretty, but it's airworthy and done.

Jul 03, 2021     Modify Glare Shield To Fit Over Fuel Tank - (5 hours)       Category: Glare Shield
Lee Teicheira, Ryan Young and Bill Lawrence Found that the glare shield would not fit over fuel tank properly due to improper placement of fuel tank rear limiting brackets and began modifications. Original bracket mounting rivets were drilled out to remove old brackets. New Brackets were fabricated, proper mounting hole placements were determined and mounting holes were drilled. Old mounting holes were filled with solid rivets. Now new brackets need to be riveted to glare shield in new proper locations.
