I removed the brackets under the huge hose clamps to trim the bottom sides near the aileron cables and turnbuckle. We were concerned that they might rub on the cables.

Used the fittings and fuel line we attached the main fuel lines. For the vent line, we installed the connector and attached it to the left-wing fuel tank fitting. We are holding off on connecting all the lines to the header tank.

Mounted the auxiliary electric fuel pump and filter on the tray with the pitch servo.

Installed the header tank and repressure tested it. We did discover an issue. The tank interferes with the left side main gear brake fitting. We will reposition the brake line fitting later.

We had to remove the nipple fittings in the rear to get the header tank to fit. We then drilled and installed the drain plug and drilled the hole in the fuselage. We need to go larger on the fuselage hole. We also bent the strap holders and notched them per instructions.

Riveted Header tank tray to the fuselage and put weather stripping tape to protect the tank from rivet heads plus reduce vibration and potential movement. We also pressure tested the tank - it passed.

Son Chris mounted all of the fittings on the header tank. I worked on mounting the tray I riveted a small plate over the previous header tank's drain hole in the bottom skin.

I spent most of the day working on the header tank. I drilled out the support from the smaller header tank and then match drilled the new tray to the support and the fuselage cage tab. I then measured the hole placement on the new header tank then drilled them out. Chris made a metal plate to cover the sump drain hole from the smaller tank. We will rivet it on before we rivet the header tank tray.
