Place and fit the front angle piece of the front of the tank between rib #1 and #2. Two times 11 nut plates were fitted to the fuel tank leading edge at a distance of approx. 7.5 cm and fastened with rivets. Not yet bonded with epoxy adhesiv.

It is possible to attach the wing tips permanently with rivets or removably with nut plates. I opted for nut plates. On the one hand, there is access to the inside of the wing and the lights and on the other hand, with a tailwheel airplane, a wing tip ground contact with possible damage to the wing tips can never be completely ruled out. According to the building instructions, the nut plates should be attached to the inside of rib #9. However, the distance to the edge of the wing tips is only approx. 5 mm. On the outside of rib #9 it would be more, but because the gluing interferes there, the nut plates would be on the outer edge of the rib! So I decided to split the nut plates. One part on the inside and one part on the outside.

Fitted the trailing edge into the rear face of the spar tube. Distance 8 1⁄2”. Abrade the inside face at each rib. Drilled No 40 (3/32") hole, 1⁄4” back from the trailing edge leading edge and midway between the rib center line and right hand outer edge of the cap strip. Countersinked all holes in trailing edge material.

Ream out the large hole to 5/16” and the small rivet holes to No.30 then deburr all holes. Scuffed the powder coating from the convex side of the doubler and abrade the inside of the spar tube. Coated epoxy to both mating faces then use bolt and Clecos to hold doublers in place. Secured with CCP44 rivets. Clean up excess adhesive with acetone.

Fitted, cleaned, bonded and riveted 2 W-0100 tip brace tubes between the rear spar and the No 9 rib. Made a bigger part of flatten end at the ribe side on the longer brace. Firs 2 x 4 gussets applied with adhesive, secure in place and applied a further fillet of adhesive along the drag tube and spar joints.
