Sep 11, 2018     Final drilled the engine mount - (2.00 hours)       Category: Engine
I final drilled the engine mount. I used bushing to positioning it with the 1/4" bolts I used for the rotisserie and drill out one by one to 3/8". I then used HW 3/8 bolt to temporary bolt the mount on to enable testing for interference of all the things that get bolted to the firewall.

Oct 04, 2017     Engine arrives - (1.00 hour)       Category: Engine
Big engine arrival day. I took 1/2 day off from work so I could hug my engine when it arrived. It was too heavy to bring into my bed and there is also a wife there. It will have to stay in the garage for now. Governor and P-mags are mounted but fuel servo was taken off after testing to avoid any transport damage. I also have to add alternator(s)

Sep 22, 2017     Engine assembly Day 2 - (8.00 hours)       Category: Engine
Second day of engine building and we were in middle of matching pushrods. There are min max tolerances and these are accomplished my moving the rods around a little. The advantage of letting an engine shop doing the assembly is that they have a battery of rods and you will find something that gives you the tolerances within spec.

By noon the air inlets were in place, the rest of the external parts will be put on next week and then they will test run it to check for proper operation. A full test log will be sent to me and I expect to get the engine in a few weeks.

Sep 21, 2017     Engine assembly Day 1 - (8.00 hours)       Category: Engine
Went up to Tulsa, OK to observe the engine building. I will spend 2 days and ask all the stupid questions I can think of.

A lot of prep work was already done (tolerance check, weighing, painting etc.), the parts were organized and laid out which means we could start the assembly immediately.

By mid day the halves were joined and by the end of day the cylinders were all in place.
