May 04, 2020     Attaching to the Plane - (4.5 hours)       Category: Filter Box
I spent most of the morning making a doubler plate for the fiberglass bowl. It is know the filter will wear through this area over time. I also made and installed all the filter retaining clips and nutplates. Tracey eventually joined me and she jumped in to help! So blessed to have a wife that will do this. We took the cowl on and off multiple times to get the alignment for the FAB to the vertical induction intake aligned. Not perfect, but pretty good. Had to cut a ""v"" notch into the fiberglass bowl so the front of the part could be bent to match the intake. We are to the point of making the foam block transition with lay up. Another note about Tracey...she is fun to have at the hangar! Thoroughly enjoy her positive atitude, willingness to learn and help, and sense of humor!
