Feb 28, 2024     43-15 Door Latch and Transparences - (2 hours) Category: Interior Finish
sanded the carbon fiber layup on the door opening (right Side). Started with 150 grit ended with wet 800.

Feb 27, 2024     Naca Vents for overhead console - (2 hours) Category: Interior Finish
I decided to install a small stainless steel net at the Naca air vents for the Overhead Console. I used rapid epoxy to glue the net on the Naca Outlet and i tested the fitting of the scat tube and it works fine.
No possibility to install a similar protection on the front Naca inlet due to the eyeball vent.

Feb 20, 2024     aerosport Interior Panels (Front) - (2 hours) Category: Interior Finish
Installed nutplates. Needed a couple of pull rivet as it was impossible to squeeze them.

Feb 18, 2024     aerosport Interior Panels (Front) - (1 hour) Category: Interior Finish
Drilled and countersunk for #8 screws (three for each panel). Still to decide what to do with the other two screws as they are supposed to be flush and therefore the panel needs to be countersunk...but the longerons are already countersunk....probably i will need to use epoxy and flox.

Feb 16, 2024     aerosport Interior Panels (Front) - (3 hours)       Category: Interior Finish
Trimming the front panels. Reconstructed part of the panel that was cut too much.
Used heat gun to reform the panel and have a more simple cut for the air vents.
Result is not perfect, i will use fiberglass to smooth out the surface. Need to decide if it makes sense to have the panels covered with carbon fiber.

Feb 13, 2024     Aerosport Interior Panels (Front) - (5 hours) Category: Interior Finish
Lucio has been working on the front panels trimming to measure and adapting to the Naca Vents. Still some work to do, i may try to prepare a little aluminum flange to better integrate the Naca Air vent. Determining the holes for the screws has been a bit of a work, but at the end the result is excellent. Nutplates to be installed

Feb 01, 2024     50-3 cabin heat and ventilation step 1 - (2 hours)       Category: Interior Finish
Tapped the gussets, riveted to the NACA Air Vent flange. Final paint RAL7016. Preliminary installation.

Jan 30, 2024     50-3 cabin heat and ventilation step 1 - (2 hours)       Category: Interior Finish
Preparation of the last two gusset for the left air vent. drilled, primed and riveted to the Naca-Vent flange. Tapped the gusset. Final paint with RAL7016

Jan 29, 2024     50-3 cabin heat and ventilation step 1 - (3 hours)       Category: Interior Finish
Drilled the NACA air vent flange for the flush rivets needed to fasten the backing gussets. Drilled #28 the gusset and tapped tor #8 screws. Primed all the gusset and riveted the gusset to the right NACA air vent. Painted RAL 7016 the right vent.

Jan 27, 2024     50-3 cabin heat and ventilation step 1 - (5 hours) Category: Interior Finish
prepared 8 little aluminum backing triangles to be drilled and tapped for #8 screws.
A lot of filing and trimming.

Jan 24, 2024     50-3 cabin heat and ventilation step 1 - (1 hour)       Category: Interior Finish
Prepared backing strips for the front air vents. Drilled #8 holes, dimpled installed nutplates. primed and painted.

Jan 13, 2024     NACA Air vents preliminary installation - (3 hours)       Category: Interior Finish
Drilled the holes in the fuselage for the #8 screws. Deburred and dimpled. Installed nutplates on all the backup strips. Primed and painted both the strips and the NACA scoops (interior side) with RAL 7016.
Preliminary installation to check possibile interferences.

Jan 11, 2024     naca Air vents backup strips - (4 hours) Category: Interior Finish
More work on the backing strips. Drilled holes. Countersunk the plastic NACA Scoop. Drilled the holes for the nutplates. Final cut of the backing strip. Adjusted to the NACA Scoop external shape

Jan 10, 2024     Naca Air vents backup strips - (6 hours)       Category: Interior Finish
decided to use nutplates for attaching the NACA scoops to the fuselage for both the front NACA (cockpit ventilation) and the back NACA for the Aerosport Air vents.
I ordered the VANS Clear aluminum Air vent for the front panel.
Preparing the strips has been a bit of filing work but the intermediate result is good.
I need to cut the backing strip along the NACA scoop and i will need to countersink the plastic scoop for the #8 flush screws. I will then install the nutplates to the alustrip.

Oct 19, 2023     aerosport panels - (2 hours) Category: Interior Finish
preliminary test fitting of the aero sport panels.

Jun 28, 2021     Priming & Interior Painting - (16 hours)       Category: Interior Finish
Brought the fuse and the all the parts to the paintshop on a rented van. Cleaned the parts with MEK together with Lucio. Very supportive paintshop owner used the same color for the primer and final internal coating Most of the time has been spent cleaning and protecting the parts that didn't require primer or paint like firewall, longhorns and other smaller items
Primed and painted also all the panels, welded tubes for controls (rudder, stick) and other items like wing fairings and stiffeners.

May 16, 2021     Priming Preparation for Interiors - (8 hours)       Category: Interior Finish
Fuselage scuffing with scotchbrite in preparation for additional priming with Akzo nobel epoxy primer and interior painting. Significant Help from Marco Biagi who enjoyed the scuffing work.
